God is not in the rush

Beloved,

December moves fast.

Calendars fill, obligations multiply, and somehow rest becomes optional.

But the incarnation — the story at the center of this season — is slow.

Unhurried.

Holy in its pacing.

“My presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.” — Exodus 33:14, NRSV

God is not in the rush.

God is in the rhythm.

Here are three ways to practice holy slowness this week:

1. Attend one event as a whole person.

Not from obligation — from capacity.

2. A 5-minute arrival ritual.

“God, help me move at a pace that honors my body today.”

3. Name the lie.

“This urgency is empire, not God.”

If your nervous system is craving slowness, the BGS playlists are built for this season — soft mornings, long exhale evenings, pockets of quiet joy.

With radical rest + soft power,

Kristen Renee Ingram
